About E. Duaine
Bringing History to Life, One Story at a Time
Welcome! I’m E. Duaine, a historical fiction author with a lifelong passion for history, genealogy, and biblical studies. For decades, I’ve been fascinated by the people whose lives shaped history—not only the famous rulers and political leaders, but also the ordinary men and women whose quiet faith, integrity, and perseverance left an extraordinary legacy.
My writing is driven by a simple belief: history is most powerful when experienced through the lives of the people who lived it.
My Journey
My interest in history began many years ago through the study of world history, church history, and family genealogy. As I researched my own ancestry, I uncovered remarkable historical connections that inspired me to explore stories hidden beneath the surface of well-known historical events.
These discoveries sparked years of research into Tudor England, the Protestant Reformation, and the individuals who served during one of the most transformative periods in English history. What started as historical curiosity eventually became the foundation for my first historical novel, Silent Steward.
The Story Behind Silent Steward
While researching my family history, I discovered the life of Peter Osborne—a trusted servant who faithfully served four Tudor monarchs during an era marked by political intrigue, religious conflict, and monumental change.
Although historical records reveal his important public roles, they say very little about the man himself. That mystery inspired me to imagine the personal struggles, relationships, and decisions that may have shaped his remarkable life.
Silent Steward blends documented historical events with carefully crafted storytelling, allowing readers to experience Tudor England through the eyes of one of its most overlooked yet influential figures.
My Writing Philosophy
Every story begins with research.
I believe historical fiction carries a unique responsibility—to respect the historical record while creating compelling narratives that connect readers with the past on a personal level.
My goal is not simply to retell history, but to bring forgotten lives into focus, exploring timeless themes such as faith, leadership, integrity, sacrifice, family, and service.
Whether you’re an avid history enthusiast or simply enjoy an engaging story, I hope my books transport you to another time while reminding you that the human experience remains remarkably constant across generations.
Why I Write
History has always been more than a collection of dates and events.
It is the story of people—their hopes, struggles, victories, failures, and unwavering determination to do what they believed was right.
Through my novels, I hope readers discover not only fascinating moments from history but also timeless lessons that continue to inspire us today.
If my stories encourage someone to learn more about history, ask deeper questions, or appreciate the remarkable people whose quiet service shaped our world, then I have accomplished what I set out to do.
